Profile Definition:
We are responsible for creating user-centred design solutions that work seamlessly across mobile multimedia devices and services back ends. The User Interaction Designer is the communication interface between the Creative and the Implementor. We are looking to recruit a competent Designer capable of combining the technicalities of a framework and the experience of an application in into a holistic solution for our Lower end device category
Responsibilities:
Create UI design dleiverables including Wireframes, Navigation work flows, Form and behavioural specs, User Scenarios descriptions, UI design specifications, Use cases for communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Work closely with Designers, experts in user experience, Product management, graphics and system architects in collaborative environment while ensuring optimum user experience design. Maintain network of consultancies and individuals for UX programs
Full responsibility for the UI quality of final product.Here the final product is the interaction specification for an application that resides in the S30 and S40 platforms of Nokia. This will sometimes involve analysis with user immersion studies, analyzing new requirements and change requests, task analysis, carrying out creative design rounds iteratively, testing designs with users, conducting UI reviews, participate in Usability evaluations.
Desired Profile:
- User Interaction designer with 3 - 4 yrs of relevant experience in small LCD screen interface design
- Experience of working with multinational companies and / or design consultancies (Nokia, Vodafone, Orange, IDEO, Apple etc) a plus
- Familiarity with Mobile interfaces and visual execution of styles and navigation
Mandatory skills:
- Proficient experience in human-centered design methods its tools, and processes
- Excellent collaboration skills with proactive involvement with stake holders
- Information design, interaction design, user interface design
- Attention to details with clear focus on matching program/product strategy
- Excellent communication and documentation skills both written and verbal
- Knowledgable of Symbian Series 30/40, Nokia UI style guides.
- Familiarity with Adobe and Multimedia packages (Macromedia (DreamWeaver, Flash ,Director), Adobe (Photoshop, Premier, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Adapt to the testing environment to carry out random quality checks on UI design specifications.
- Familiarity with localization, internationalization
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well-organised and self-motivated to complete deliverables with limited supervision
Optional skills :
- Physical interaction design, haptic technology and design for touchscreens
- Visual design, sound design
- Web design, PC GUI design
- Software engineering methods and tools, open source, scrum model
- Working knowledge of XML
Educational Qualification:
Degree/ Post Graduation in a relevant field of interaction design, visual communications,industrial design, visual design, psychology, or Computer science/Computer applications and Computer engineering
Bachelors/ Masters in Fine Arts with mobile interaction design experience
