SUMMARY: Persons employed in this position are responsible for, but not limited to, development and management of the strategic supply base within the assigned commodity(s) for supply of required materials to ensure total customer satisfaction while ensuring cost, lead time and quality targets are met.

• Establish long-term relationships with Strategic Suppliers that place Laird in a lead position with its suppliers thereby assuring continuity of supply and best in class quality and pricing to provide advantage to Laird and its customers.
9 b% c" R, E& |+ R( m. U• Guide the selection, development, and management of Strategic Suppliers to meet commodity cost and performance goals, with emphasis placed on ability to identify cost targets for relevant technology and product roadmaps. / t7 c! z+ g& e# g
• Monitor current commodity market conditions/trends, technology roadmaps, and identify supply/demand challenges. Develop, implement and communicate tactical and strategic commodity plans internally and to Laird suppliers as appropriate.. q7 M8 e. D# Z1 s& u: Z
• Work with Product Introduction process to coordinate sourcing strategies and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs., p, J; I& ]0 F

• Provide technical assistance to new product development, product enhancement teams, site and local purchasing teams and plant materials management teams. 8 [& M5 f7 E% j! x& I7 {7 f
• Management of supplier performance ratings.
# k6 i* ^% l" n9 }$ e, c• Communicate forecast information to critical suppliers regularly
8 R' [3 D3 f& o: e" V2 O• Negotiating and administration of purchasing contracts/ q- K8 P5 f J R, \
• Make or buy policy analysis and decisions
8 B' [$ c8 I: U. e# [7 S• Outsourcing strategy/development/management & d" g, Q$ c& N d) r
• Payment terms negotiation, optimization and management
) ~# C) E# J* C# P& s/ H• International trading issues/imports/legal, awareness and management9 ~' R- M8 r5 L: }. N3 o
• Drive productivity gains (cost savings) to improve project and service margins through negotiations and competitive bidding, minimize defects and delays.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic computer skills; s4 w }2 p! M9 i4 v/ r" M* G( z
• Good organizational, analytical and communication skills- \, _: T+ E3 t, E$ a
• Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail
$ J6 X# D7 m9 U& L3 j2 }• Complete understanding and experience with integrated manufacturing software systems, i.e. ERP, MRP

• BA / BS degree or equivalent experience
% i- M$ ]: r {- I• 10 years previous inventory, production control, and/or supervisory experience6 z% g& H- ?% V; |5 p
• 5 years Management experience! a+ C7 {% h/ C
• CPIM, CPM preferred
