在一个人的一生当中,都会由于某种客观原因产生一定程度的自卑心理。因为每个人都不可能是完美无缺的,在他/她身上总会有这样或那样的优点与缺点。当一个人不自觉地将他/她的缺点与他人的优点相比较时, 自卑的心理就产生了,而产生自卑心理的程度取决于对比的深度如何。当一个人存有自卑心理时,可能是好事,也可能是坏事,这取决于这个人从哪个角度来看待自卑,并且如何操作。

自卑心理越强的人,其突破现有局限状态的动力越强大。如果对这股强大力量运用得当,则会实现自我超越。反之,则会变得胆小、缺乏自信,甚至会自暴自弃。

但是,由于对自卑心理的正确运用而实现了自我超越的人非常容易陷入自大的陷阱,这样的人非常自我,听不进任何他人的建议，从而自然而然地放慢了自我能力提高的速度,最终失去竞争力并会将自己边缘化。
