The mean of reflective/latent model

大家好，最近看文献，突然注意到reflective model的均值是简单算术平均，表示不理解，这虽然是一个很小白的问题，但是我还是鼓起勇气给罗老师写信请答疑，老师非常详细地阐述了其中原因。给有同样困惑的同学分享老师的回答，希望有用。

& S8 U" E4 \" s: J' wIn survey studies, we consistently emphasize the importance of distinguishing formative and reflective(latent) measure model which have different assumptions about relations. To my shallow understanding, if a construct is operationalized as a reflective model, it is inappropriate to add the items underlying it. Instead, the new factor score shall be decided by the assigned weight of each item.
