The mean of reflective/latent model

$ m1 T3 g; D7 D% CIn survey studies, we consistently emphasize the importance of distinguishing formative and reflective(latent) measure model which have different assumptions about relations. To my shallow understanding, if a construct is operationalized as a reflective model, it is inappropriate to add the items underlying it. Instead, the new factor score shall be decided by the assigned weight of each item.
